Burnout and anxiety often show up together. Burnout can feel like a loss of capacity. You might notice it emotionally, physically, and/or mentally. Anxiety can look like constant vigilance, racing thoughts, rumination, or a sense that you can’t fully rest and recover. For many neurodivergent adults, both develop over time after years of masking, over-functioning beyond capacity, internalised expectations, and ignoring needs in order to get by.
In therapy, we focus on listening to what your exhaustion and anxiety are trying to tell you and ways to help soften and recover from these. The work isn’t about getting you back to “normal.” It’s about slowing down, understanding your patterns, and reconnecting with your limits, needs, and desires in ways that feel possible and sustainable for you.
Our work may include somatic and nervous system support, parts work to understand your inner experience and coping patterns, and gentle experimentation with rest, expression, and self-trust. The aim isn’t productivity or pushing through. It’s learning how to live in a way that feels more sustainable and more like you.
